- Juxta started back in 2001 when Tony swapped his truncheon and Police uniform to pick up the tools of his trade again. (if truth be know he often turned up for duty covered in sawdust and wood shaving from some exotic timber). Juxta was formed and a factory was set up. Commissions rolled in due to Tony’s design capabilities but driven to develop a core for the business Tony designed a range of furniture and set out with Claire his wife researching the market visiting trade shows across Europe. (East Yorkshire at this point had not been introduced to contemporary design, as we now know it). It was during this time Tony happened upon the fantastic companies that now supply Juxta and we brought East Yorkshire face to face with the leading Italian manufactures and the worlds leading designers such as Foscarini, Artemide, Flos, b&b italia, Maxalto,Magis,Tom Dixon
