No client ever receives ‘one I made earlier’ which doesn’t mean the wheel is reinvented but recognition that each site offers new opportunities. The first stage is always a spark of imagination by client and architect (usually over a cup of coffee) and the illustration of that idea via pencil onto sketchbook. From that point onwards, it is the cooperation between client and architect which realises the aspiration.
Town Planning is ‘the’ fundamental statutory requirement of almost all building projects and JGJS has developed a planning expertise working within the Green Belt, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas. This understanding acknowledges where and when professional planners are necessary thus optimising the service provided. JGJS has extensive experience working with Windsor & Maidenhead, Slough, Runnymede, South Bucks, South Oxford, Elmbridge, Kingston, Spelthorne and Wycombe Councils.
For the more simple builds, following the successful completion of planning, JGJS can provide the necessary drawings for Building Regulations approval which can in-turn be given to a builder for pricing and construction with little or no further input from JGJS. This reduces the costs incurred by the client for architectural services which are not always necessary. For larger builds, it is recommended that JGJS undertake a detailed set of construction drawings and building specification alongside administering a full building contract with on-site progress.
