- Hello my name is Sonia a Usui Reiki Master and practitioner in Mickleover. Reiki pronounced (ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force Energy which describes a system of natural healing. Reiki is a form of relaxation that promotes healing in the body, mind and spirit. It is a healing system that is safe, natural and a holistic way of treating many conditions including stress, insomnia, anxiety, grief and much more.
A Reiki treatment is carried out by gently placing hands on or over a person (who is always fully clothed) either laying on a therapist couch or in a sitting position. The whole person is treated rather than specific areas.
A treatment can last for over an hour and gentle music can be played to enhance the relaxation process.
Clients experience deep relaxation promoting a calm and peaceful sense of well-being.
